CV ON DEMAND

 It is my goal as a teacher to deliver a high-quality holistic and inclusive education, characterized by high expectations and the pursuit of excellence.  I see nurturing student Wellbeing as crucial in this vision and in developing happier more resilient students capable of authentic expression and lifelong learning. 

 

To my experience I am fully registered with the teaching council of Ireland and garda vetted. I have experience in teaching Visual Art, Art History, ICT, EAL, TY, SEN and Resource.  I am a PME honours graduate from Limerick College of Art and Design and the University Limerick UL. I have teaching experience at PLC and second level with mixed gender first, second, 3rd, TY ART and TY Vol, LCA1 AND LCA2 students in both suburban and urban schools in Ireland.  I work annually with the State Examiners Commission (SEC) to correct Leaving Certificate higher level Visual Art and Appreciation papers. I have been selected to correct with Exam-craft for the LC/JC mock exams in January 2023. I am a flexible and adaptable teacher who is open to teaching other subjects, engaging in further training when necessary and taking on leadership rolls. I am currently studying a 300hr TEFL course and I am reregistered for the Post-Graduate Diploma Programme  of  Continuing  Professional  Development  for  Special Education Teachers - 2022/2023 at University Galway UG.

 Prior to my teacher training I worked extensively as an artist in the community. I have fifteen years’ experience facilitating art groups and yoga groups for the HSE west mental health services and four years’ experience as an animator tutor for the Galway Film Center. I have been involved in many community arts projects such as ‘Burning Bright; a celebration of creativity in older age’,  in the artist in schools program and a projects with asylum seekers and refugees which explored their sense of belonging in Galway city called ‘My City My Identity’. I have spoken on professional panels and represented the HSE and the Galway Arts Center at national and international events. This wide and varied artist -teacher experience has both provided me with a solid foundation in the diverse aspects of the Visual Arts and has served to foster great flexibility in my teaching style. I am passionate about finding ways to integrate cross curricular and community engagement learning into my lesson plans. Additionally, I hope my many extracurricular interests and qualifications such as yoga, mountain skills and kayaking will serve as gateways to deeper engagement within your school community and assist in the nurturing of student and peer wellbeing.
